3.11.11 Punters Left Out In The Cold Again

..... Gallopers complain about the fact Channel 7 will not allow either Sky Channel or TVN to show any of the Flemington spring carnival races live. We made a promise to ourselves we would not make an issue out of it this year. Considering Channel 9 have no issue with either TVN or Sky televising the races live through the Caulfield & Moonee Valley meetings, why Channel 7 won't allow it is beyond us, both Sky & TVN target completely different audiences to those Channel 7 target with their scrappy coverage, awful race camera angles & unlimited fashion crosses & foolish presenters who know absolutely nothing about horse racing.

However this afternoon on Oaks day took the cake for Gallopers. The Channel 7 coverage finished before the last event, & they did not show the race at all, let alone live. Nevertheless, "contractual agreements" remained in place with neither Sky nor TVN showing the last race live.

Channel 7, if you are not going to show the race live, allow one of the excellent dedicated racing channels to show the race live, that is only fair.

What a joke. Accommodate the serious punter as well as the once a year public, or give the dedicated racing channels & punters a fair go. Punters keep the racing game alive, just ask Tabcorp who you have endlessly plugged throughout the 2011 coverage.

Betting turnover is down this carnival, maybe one of the reasons is the Channel 7 coverage.
