Located in the Western Goldfields District of Victoria, Ararat host a grass track almost rectangular in shape.

The 1500m, 1400m & 1000m starts are poor for those drawn wide, inside barriers an advantage here.

The 1300m & 1200m starts are okay with a nice run to the first turn.

Generally favours those runners close to the pace and on the fence.
