Tight turning narrow grass track on the NSW north coast. Very short straight meaning on pace on fence runners are usually advantaged. Short runs to the first turn from the 1900m, 1000m & 1250m starting points, meaning inside barriers are a huge advantage. Not so bad from the 1400m & 1600m starting points, however the track is narrow so horses drawn wide will go out quickly to get across to the rails.

Always plenty of pace on in races at Ballina.

Horses trained locally & at Lismore have a distinct advantage.
