GALLOPERS TRACK MAP
CAULFIELD
Circumference 2080m Located about 10km south east of Melbourne Caulfield is home to the Caulfield Cup and race on a grass track. Only a medium length straight so it can favour on pace runners, although the excellent camber does assist run on horses if they have momentum up around the turn. The 1200m & 1100m chute chute gives runners their chance with only one bend to get around. However, the 1400m races start on a bend, as do the 1800m and 2000m events. Inside barriers a big advantage here. The 1600m is reasonable, however again inside barriers an advantage here. The 2400m start is dreadful and inside barriers a definite advantage.
