GALLOPERS TRACK MAP
KALGOORLIE
Circumference 1890m Located in the heart of the goldfields area of WA, about 500km east of Perth, this grass track is an oasis in a red desert. Their season runs throughout winter racing almost every Sunday. The track stands up very well to the racing because they receive very little rain. There are basically 4 turns on the track so runners need to be near the fence in transit. usually plenty of pace on in races here with runners trying to get across to the fence from wide barriers. The 1400m barrier start gives runners a good run to the first turn. All other starting points it is imperative to draw an inside barrier. The straight is short, so on pace on fence runners are suited. However, if there is a lot of speed int eh race, back markers do get their chance to win.
