Located at Mowbray in northern Tasmania, this grass track is extremely tight turning with some horses handling it okay, others simply duffers on it.

Inside barriers a big advantage from the 120m, 1400m & 2100m starts, runners simply cannot be trapped wide.

The straight is very short, so runners have to be there on the turn to have any winning hope. However, the side of the track does extend some 700m so runners have a chance to get into the race at this point.

During winter when the track becomes rain affected, it is not unusual to see jockeys scouting out wide to the outside runing rail from as early as the 1200m.
