Mudgee is the centre of wine country in the Western Districts of NSW, about 3 1/2 hour north west of Sydney. The track is narrow with a good long run home, however does tend to favour on pace runners.

The 1400m start is the best giving a decent run to the first turn.

The 1200m & 1000m start points definitely favour inside barrier draws.
