Nowra is located about 2 hours south of Sydney and hosts Archer Park, named after the first two Melbourne Cup winners, a tight turning grass racing surface.

The 1200m start is good giving most horses their chance.

However all other starting points definitely favour inside barrier draws with a short run to the first turn.
