GALLOPERS TRACK MAP
Circumference 1800m Orange is a grass track located in the Golden Belt of NSW about 3 hours west of Sydney. Due to the extreme climate, very hot in summer and frosty in winter, makes it difficult for the racing surface to be maintained in mint condition. So the track will cut up during the winter months and become very hard in the summer. Barriers are vital at all starting points, particularly 1100m, 1200m,1600m & 1800m where inside barriers are a distinct advantage. The 1400m start gives runners a 350m run in to the first turn which is acceptable, while the 10000m start gives runners around a 300m run to the first turn. Not a lengthy straight, so it is
always best to be handy. In winter the straight is best out wider, whilst in
summer the fence is the place to be.
