Looks a very tough day on the punt at all four venues this afternoon. In fact, it's a no bet day for us.

Best:-

Canberra R2 No3 Flaunter

Lay:-

Bendigo R8 No9 Medician Star

Thursday 7 May 2009

Stewards have moved the rail out 4m at The Bool for Cup day after jockeys were tracking well off the fence for most of yesterday. Will not be any different on the flat races today, with hoops steering a wide berth. Swoopers will come into play, especially in the shorter races, barriers will not play as big a part as they usually do. Tough meetings at Gosford, Rockhampton & Port Augusta on the dirt, we'll take a wide berth away from them as betting propositions.

Best Bet:-

Warrnambool R8 No3 Hissing Sid

Lay:-

Gosford R6 No2 Gethsemane

Wednesday 6 May 2009

Time honoured Wangoom Handicap & Galleywood Hurdle day at The Bool. Track down to a slow (6), so the inside will start cutting up as the day progresses. Very tough day, like yesterday where plenty of outsiders showed up as they always do during the Warrnambool carnival. Look very tough meetings at Canterbury & the Gold Coast. Strathalbyn form should hold up, with the usual on pace bias there. A strong meeting at Pinjarra Park in the west.

Best bet:-

Warrnambool R7 No13 Arch Symbol

Lay:-

Warrnambool R8 No7 Doctor Gachet

Tuesday 5 May 2009

Very tough meetings today at both Lismore & Warrnambool. Lismore especially a no bet venue for us this afternoon, look for on pace runners there as the run home is very short. If betting at The Bool, look for horses trained locally, they have a distinct advantage, there should be favouritism given to on pace runners today, however as the track cuts up over the next 3 days, then swoopers out wide may tend to dominate. Trainers set horses specifically for races at Warrnambool over the carnival, so there will be some vast improvers & unexpected form reversals over the next 3 days so bet with caution. Townsville without doubt the best punting venue this afternoon. The rail is out 4m from the 1000m, 2m the rest, so look for on pace runners.

The good thing today is at Cluden Park:-

Townsville R3 No1 Sienna's Pride

Today's Lay:-

Lismore R3 No4 Ellen Rosina
