Wagga
Weather:Fine Track:Good(4) Rail:True

General Comment: Very fair track with a long wide straight which generally gives every horse a winning opportunity. Inside barriers from most start points are an advantage.

Race 7 Country Championship Qualifier 1400m
Looks an impossible race with a big field and many different form lines. Bullala has won both starts this time in, the most recent here carrying top weight in handicap. Alas, he has drawn horribly and will need luck, should he get some, then he is the hardest to beat. Oh So Hazy ran a great race at Canterbury last start after consecutive victories here at Wagga. She has not been beyond 1250m so from the barrier this is a real query, however it is difficult to knock her form. Butler Butler won the Prelude over 1400m, is reasonably well drawn, very fit so he certainly has winning claims. Supplyzing has won 2 from 3 this time in from good draws, he can figure with some luck. Superoo has no luck with marbles, 3 runs this time in, 3 double figure barrier draws. He is fit and has a chance but will need things to go his way. If he gets a run, Arhtur Porrit won his maiden emphatically last start and can go on with the job from a good draw. Good cases could be made for Chastity Strikes, Villicana and Supply Money. Forever Newyork was too bad to be true last start, he can improve significantly from the rails draw here at big odds.

1 #2 Bullala
2 #12 Oh So Hazy
3 #5 Forever Newyork
4 #20 Arthur Porrit

Race 6 Tom Patton Showcase Cup 1800m
A couple of promising middle distance horses engaged here. City Of Kirkwall has won his past 3 starts and looks city class. From the Matt Dale stable he can continue his winning run in this race. American Time is a last start winner over this curse and distance after some consistent efforts. He too can measure up here. Ilyrian won the Cowra Cup then placed in the Bathurst Cup, he is right in this race also. Salesman has a chance but will require all of Matty Cahill skill to get him home from the barrier. Heysen ran on strongly behind American Time however he struggles to put two together these days, a place hope again. City Of Kirkwall looks the best of good things.

1 #3 City Of Kirkwall
2 #2 American Time
3 #4 Salesman
4 #7 Ilyrian

Armidale
Weather:Fine Track:Good(4) Rail:True

General Comment: The track is almost circular, with a very short straight. On pace/on fence runners are advantaged while wide barriers and a significant disadvantage. Great horses for courses track, look for horses who have won at the track.

2018 Armidale Cup 1900m
Good to see some race clubs maintain a distance Cup race in this day and age of sprinting bred types. Egyptian Ruler is fitter for two runs this time in, his last run was good, claim helps, may need some luck. Allzin placed at Canterbury two runs back, that is good enough form for this race. Hirokin won the Bathurst Cup alst start, that's good enough form to for him to make it a duo. Loud Enough is racing very consistently and a win is not too far away. The 4yo has won at this track which is a significant factor and he is well drawn. Carry On Jake is your classic horse for this course, three starts, three wins, the barrier is his issue. Backhouse Billy is up to a race like this, alas, he has had three goes at the track for zilch. He is well drawn and has P Graham to assist. Kasharn has had a change of stables since his last effort in town, placed at Kembla prior, that is good enough form for this race.Rage Against has won 3 from his last 5 including one over this course and distance, needs some luck from the barrier. Jack Strikes Back a winning chance should he gain a start.

1 #4 Hirokin
2 #5 Loud Enough
3 #10 Backhouse Billy
4 #11 Kasharn

Esperance Bay
Weather:Fine Track:Good(4) Rail:True

General Comment: Picturesque venue with most horses getting their opportunity to win. Inside barriers an advantage from all start points, nice wide straight allows run on horses to get home.

Race 7 Esperance Cup 2030m
Usually an exciting affair, although the 2018 version looks a difficult task for punters. Push To Pass has beenr acing in town without success, might need to lift a bit for this. Dark Shot has won 2 from his past 3 in this area, drawn a touch awkwardly but has Staples to assist, with luck he is hard to beat. RHino Buster would have been our top pickprior to the barrier draw, he eneds luck now, but Staeck can get the job done. On The Ropes is fitter for 3 runs this time in, ran an improved race last time out, has barrier 1 and Jarrod Noske to help. Big chance. Blackbeel finished like Bernborough last start to win here over 1600m, poorly drawn so may go back, however he can fidn the line. Confusing has had 2 runs from a spell and can improve after a city failure last start. He is well drawn and has Ryan Hill to assist. The winner should come from those.

1 #11 Confusing
2 #4 On The Ropes
3 #2 Dark Shot
4 #1 Push To Pass
