Gallopers Race Day Reveiws

Saturday 24 February 2018

Rosehill Gardens

She Knows is the horse to follow, an outstanding performance to finish runner up in the first event.  Big weight, wide barrier, sat three deep attacking the lead all the way and was only run down in the final 50 metres. She will be winning much better races.

From a Golden Slipper perspective, both
Sunlight and Estijaab were terrific runs in the Silver Slipper. Sunlight looked like she needed the outing while Estijaad was taken on unmercifully by Neutrality who finished over 10 lengths behind the winner Sunlight.

Kementari was outstanding in the Hobartville. The 3yo colt has come back bigger and better than he ever was, and whatever race he contests this Autumn, he will be super competitive.

Victorians may be as biased as they wish, nevertheless, the track dished up to punters at Caulfield today was not worthy of a Group 1 race, let alone three Group 1s. Massive on pace on fence bias giving back markers no hope. An absolute disgrace and Victorians should be ashamed.

An absolutely magnificent ride by J
ordan Childs to get Written By home in the Blue Diamond Stakes from a wide barrier. The track bias certainly helped, however horse and rider gave nothing else a chance and there were no hard luck stories. Given a decent barrier on Golden Slipper day, Written By cannot be discounted.

Gailo Chop made the best of the huge on pace track bias to win the Peter Young. He is headed for the Australian Cup and should go very close unless the track bias today disproves the form. Single Gaze is very brave, she deserves a Group 1 win at some stage.

Mark Zahra and Craig Williams stole the jockeys show with two wins each, both Group 1s for Zahra. As indicated in Gallopers Preview, both Williams and Zahra have excellent managers who seem to get them on right horses in each race. Follow them both through the Autumn.

If William Pike is the best jockey in WA, then Chris Parnham is only a short half head behind and lengths in front of all the other hoops. Parnham's ride on Showcase was a gem, put him on a good thing, he will get them home.

Gallopers Race Day Reveiws

Wednesday 21 February 2018

Canterbury Park

3yo filly Ridicule was definitely the most impressive winner of the day, she can go on with the job on a Saturday now

Primitivo needs more racing, he is a big gangly type looking for further ground. He ahs a good race in him, he is one to follow.

Just Shine might be a middle distance horse with a future. He stormed home late to beat favourite Cyrus Rocks, albeit with a 3kg pull in the weights. Just Shine might measure up to better races through the Autumn.

Leave us out of Kennedy in the future, he needs everything to go his way and needs too much luck in his races to win.

Gold Coast

Greyt Love was deserted in the market however still finished powerfully to win. She can go on to win in the city on a Saturday with the extra fitness on her side.

Robbers Cobber went very hard attacking the lead after being well supported, if he can learn to settle then he can win one of those 2200m races in town on a Saturday.

Zendaye was heavily backed and looked home, only to be run down late by Real Ego. Zendaye can win at his next attempt.

A treble for promising apprentice Brodie Kirby, he is still learning, however punters can do worse than putting their hard earned down on his mounts.

Friar Fox looks very promising, a Saturday city win is within his radar this prepaation.

Tuesday 20 February 2018

A treble for
Godolphin on the day and all three can go on with their winning ways.

Laburnum won nicely on debut, he can go to the city now and be competitive

Stable mate
Guipure over came difficulties to win fresh, there might be race for her over the Autumn carnival. And the ride of Corey Brown has to be complimented, he was caught napping momentarily however without panic he steadily brought Guipure into the race and she won comfortably without being extended. Brown has a great winning strike rate when riding for Godolphin, and because he doesn't get rides from top stables like Waller and Waterhouse he doesn't appear to get the opportunities he deserves. Follow Corey through the Autumn, he will ride Group 1 winners when given the chance.

Brenton Avdulla
Ride of the Day to get Flying home. Punters should bet against "The Gun" in Jockeys Challenges unless Hugh Bowman is competitive.

Topsy turvy day with some winners hard against the fence, others closer to the outside fence, so form may not stand up.

Steel Of Madrid probably the best win of the day, he might have a 1000m-1100m win in town in him this preparation.

Godolphin team is in form with Michael Walker scoring on
Harmattan on debut. He might go on with the job now.

Kazio is possibly another who may go through his grades winning today second up.

Cyclone Topgirl
Continued on her winning way, carrying top weight, tardily away, still led and kicked clear to win comfortably. There may be an off season city race for her. She can certainly continue her winning way in this area.

Mason's Chance
Sat three wide the trip attacking the lead and still ran away from his opposition in the straight. Admittedly the dpeth in the field was questionable, however there are more wins in store for Olivia Cairns gelding.

Tinto Elemento
Leave me out of her in future, she was never travelling like a winner as a short priced favourite and may have found her mark.
